"Miss Lettie L. Evans, an English teacher at Northeast for thirty-seven years, was born in Kansas City, Missouri. She
attended Humboldt Grade School and Central High School. She was graduated from Missouri University, and after doing graduate
work at Columbia, Wisconsin, and Colorado Universities, she received her Master's Degree from M. U.
Miss Evans first taught two years in East Prairie, Missouri, coming to Northeast in 1917. She remained here until illness
caused her hospitalization on April 28, 1954. She died at the hospital on May 28, 1954."
